Conditions genuinely differ across Calgary. A property on an exposed ridge in the northwest collects drifts that a sheltered inner-city lot never sees, and a big-box lot in the southeast presents a completely different snow-storage problem than a condo lane in the northwest. Northwest Calgary
Established inner-city communities with narrow lanes and short frontages, alongside newer hillside developments where wind-driven drifting is a recurring issue. Both need careful snow placement because on-street storage isn't an option.

Long driveways, sloped access and mature neighbourhoods with limited space to stack snow. Grade matters here — meltwater during a Chinook runs downhill and refreezes on the flat sections at the bottom.
Southeast Calgary
Large commercial and big-box parking areas, industrial facilities and rapidly growing residential communities. Wide open lots collect drifting snow well after a system has passed.
